We are building a new generation of autonomous ISR aircraft capable of sensing, deciding, and acting in milliseconds, entirely onboard and without the cloud.
Your work will bring real-time computer vision to life, from sensor to sky, helping our aircraft perceive, track, and understand the world beneath them.
What you’ll do
- Design and prototype embedded vision systems using Raspberry Pi, Jetson, or ARM-based platforms with CSI or MIPI camera interfaces.
- Implement and optimize real-time computer vision pipelines (Python, OpenCV, TensorRT, ONNX) for detection, tracking, and data capture.
- Debug hardware and firmware issues across cameras, sensors, connectors, and PCBs.
- Work with the AI and autonomy teams to integrate perception systems into the onboard compute stack.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems, sensors, and low-level debugging.
- Familiarity with image sensors, optics, and camera calibration.
- Strong Python or C++ skills for pipeline development and optimization.
- Ability to prototype fast, from breadboard to flight-ready hardware.
Nice to have
- Experience with drones, ROS, PX4, or ArduPilot.
- Familiarity with low-latency video streaming or real-time inference pipelines.
- Experience with PCB design, thermal management, or field testing.
Why USAVX
